Alpha Bears Mentoring Program
The Beta Phi Lambda “Alpha Bears” mentoring program started at Butler Elementary School, “The Home of the Bears.” Brothers are assigned to a specific school and visit a minimum of twice per month to meet with the students, host events, provide academic tutorials, or simply have mentoring conversations with the students. The program mentors a total of 476 male students in 27 schools. Although we identify the program as “Alpha Bears” because of the inaugural host school, the program is named after the mascot of each respective school. Additionally, the program expanded to also include female participants. We also now have 75 young ladies in the program.
